If you’ve been following along with the recent articles, then welcome back! Alternatively, if you listened to the NFC Over/Under Podcast episode you likely know what’s coming but thanks for stopping by (and stay classy)! We move on in this one to the NFC East.

NFC East

First up is “America’s team” who has an over/under set at 10. We don’t support the title, but what we do support is the Cowboys hitting their over this season. They finished 12-5 in 2021 and coming in to the 2022 season they get a healthy Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard in the backfield which pairs very well with the #6 overall offensive line per PFF. Amari Cooper did get shipped off to the Browns but WR CeeDee Lamb and TE Dalton Shultz look to build on their 2021 success and should get help at some point from Michael Gallup who’s recovering from a torn ACL. Another factor working in the Cowboy’s favor is continuity on both sides of the ball with Kellen Moore and Dan Quinn returning as the offensive and defensive coordinators, respectively.

The Philadelphia Eagles have their line set at 9.5. This improved Philly team went 9-8 in 2021 and we know what they added this offseason. WR AJ Brown, LB Nakobe Dean, DT Jordan Davis, LB Haason Reddick, and CB James Bradberry were all additions to an already solid Eagles team and they enter the 2022 season with the #1 ranked offensive line. We like Jalen Hurt’s prospects this season and we like the defense once again. Sign us up for the over and sign us up for an Eagles division title.

Moving on to the New York Giants. The G-men have their line set at 7. In 2021, they finished 4-13. Enter Brian Flor….Brian DABOLL* who comes over from the Buffalo Bills. We believe he is a massive upgrade from Joe Judge and that there is still some hope for a Daniel Jones revival. The Giants also get RB Saquon Barkley back, they drafted LB Kayvon Thibodeaux, and the offensive line should be improved with the additions of G Mark Glowinski, C Jon Feliciano, and rookie T Evan Neal. We don’t like them for more than 8 or 9 wins, but we do like the over.

The final team in the NFC East is the Washington Commanders. The line for the Commanders is set at 8. They finished 2021 at 7-10. They get an upgrade at quarterback going from Tyler Heinicke to Carson Wentz. Carson Wentz, however, gets a massive offensive line down grade going from one of the top units in the NFL to Washington who currently ranks middle of the pack in that area. The schedule has 5-6 games that the Commanders should be able to win based on what we know about teams going into the season. They’ll also likely win 1-2 games they aren’t favored to win. However, even with those perceived 6-8 wins we’re still short of the 9 it would take to beat this over which is why we’re taking the under.

One division to go in the NFC which will be out soon. If you find yourself in a position where you just cant wait, listen to this podcast episode in which we covered ALL 16 NFC teams. If you’re absolutely disgusted by our opinions here, hop on over to Twitter and give us a piece of your mind. We’d love to hear from you!
